In addition to playing CD's and my iPod, I can connect my XM SkyFi2 radio into it. Couple connections and antenna alignment and I was set. I love this stereo. I had to order an extra home kit for it from XM Fan Store as the one I have is in use in another part of my house. I really like this stereo unit a lot and Amazon delivered it quick and I just used basic shipping. It fits in my basement rec room and the two speakers sound great. Compact enough so it does not take up a lot of space.
Shows clock when unit is powered off on standby.3. Good sound. But that's much better than systems that just have a single non-detachable wire coming out. This was not really a disappointment. 50w total power makes a big difference compared with lower rated shelf systems. I should remember that for the future, "Sony no baloney." I have a larger Sony component system for the past 16 years which never gave me any trouble. I could not get much reception where I put the unit. I hate those.5.
Elegant design and white display. I purchased this model at Best Buy for $109 after trying and returning an all-in-one Memorex shelf unit that was more expensive. Depending on where you place the system it might not look as nice. You could always paint them yourself. There is no balance control.
Headphones jack is in the front where I want it.Be aware though, that the "EQ" is really just treble and bass controls from -4 to +4. The supplied AM antennae is ok, but the FM antenna is just a single wire that attaches to a coax terminal. Because, with the coax terminal I attached a $10 RCA FM/VHF/UHF antennae which works fine. All in all I still give it 5 stars because it does the job for me with no headache. If you put these speakers on a shelf, you won't notice.2. Controls are easy to figure out on unit and on remote control.4. I put mine where you won't see this. I like this model for the following reasons:1.
The sound is great. What I didn't like was minor:1, The rear of the particle board speakers is not painted like the black enclosure. Not the top loading type with a button in the center. It will definitely fill a room without putting it on maximum volume.2. CD is sliding tray type on the front.
Big "no-no" for me as it did not allow me to use my XM plug in unless I wanted unsightly audio wires on the front of the machine. Sony CMTBX20i Micro Hi-Fi Shelf SystemI returned this product without even plugging it in. As soon as I took it out of the box I noticed that the audio in button was on the front of the machine vs the back.
We had been searching for a system with multiple cd trays to replace our old one, but settled on this and we are very glad that we did-it made us really appreciate ipod technology. I am very impressed with this system. Really great product and very well priced for what you get. The system is also the perfect home for an old ipod (1.4.1) with a defunct battery. It has the sleek styling you expect from Sony and the quality too. The speakers have good sound especially considering their size.
i dont have an ipod so i cant comment on that sry. the sound can b fine tuned by adjusting the treb. or bass( my openion thats better than preset eq).full function remote great bass for a unit this size. ordered mine from amazon and got it 2 days ago. definatly reckomend to a friend. but i can teel right out of the box that this sony is built to last.i live in a decent sized apt. the last stero i had was an rca{BIG MISTAKE}that lasted less than a year. and even at half volume it can be clearly heard throughout apt.the unit its self is quite small but stylish.
